Going through some reddit post on the subject, I installed GSam battery monitor to have more details since the default Android battery monitor only showed "Android System". In the same time I saw that this problem were not limited to Oneplus phones and seemed to affect some other brands as well, so I began to think about a bug in Android 11 altogether (which would only affect some phones?) I decided to switch to a custom ROM to tests the buggy ROM theory, which did not help as the same behaviour was occuring. Next updates of OxygenOS did not solve the problem and, among the community, a lot of users still reported this problem (and still are) but some stated their device was fine and never encoutered such issues Oneplus software management has been degrading since the last few years and I saw many reports of this same problem on the Oneplus forum so I first assumed that Oneplus rolled out a buggy version of OxygenOS.
Airdroid battery drain update#
I am using a Oneplus 7T, and the problem appeared with the update to OxygenOS 11. Going as far as loosing 30%+ of battery over the night (so no touching and airplane mode in my case), and having to recharge thrice per day to not run out of juice. The problem : Specifically on Android 11 versions, many phones started overheating throughout the day (and night) which caused a massive battery drain. I just want to share my experience on this subject, as I found this problem to be extremely annoying and it seemed to be shared by a lot a users without real solution or root cause identified.
